Maybe the aliens are good, but also super libertarian, so cannot interfere directly due to alien morality. Our elites fear them so seek to create alien hostility in us, and openly threaten them with Samson-option if they ever reveal or try to wake us up from our enslavement. Or maybe our elites are led, covertly, by bad aliens. Or call them demons if you like, same situation. Maybe aliens built us? but other aliens conquered our creator aliens and now own us? So many possibilities.. Maybe we are the origin race, and aliens are descended from us, but we stranded here lost touch and forgot through cataclysms on earth. etc..
Tell that to the hundreds of Dead Soldiers who have had their Brains literally fried by Aliens while Guarding the Nuclear Silos....
Oh, and also tell it to the DOD and VA who refuse to Compensate their Families....

Looking forward to working on the Enterprise myself. At the very least I want to take a space cruise past Saturn or Jupiter, or even Neptune, and party harder than I ever have in my life :)
