Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Add personal prayer requests to this list please, I had mine removed an hour ago
Here is what got deleted
With this recent bout of sickness, I’ve had some strange issues and anxiety that is abnormal. The anxiety is subconscious and only causes issues when I lay down. Basically lots of fear and mini shakes that interrupt my breathing and induce a panic like state. It usually causes me to wake up every time I fall asleep and very annoying. After a few hours I can usually get to sleep. I am also always tired and can take lots of naps. My wife and kids got this same sickness but it wasn’t as bad. Lots of coughing and phlegm for me but only some for the rest of them. We all had pain in the neck and specifically around the lymph nodes I’ve been treating with ibuprofen and ivermectin before going to bed and that has helped a lot but looking for more advice and prayer. I’ve also taken some iodine supplements just in case it’s thyroid related Thanks
Magnesium for relaxation and sleep, Ashwahghanda is a great herb for calming but not sedation, helps the physical jitters. Ivermectin is great, but it does not build up the bodies defenses, it takes care of parasites that may make you ill, in the meantime, acetyl l cysteine for the lungs, Quercitin for immune system and histamine response, Zinc and C. Feel better and Happy Independence Day!
Is there anything that helps with asthma symptoms? I’m thinking that could be causing my shortness of breath. I have a history with that
Asthma isn't specifically shortness of breath but rather a restriction of breathing (principally a restriction on breathing OUT). Shortness of breath sounds more like COPD. Apart from NAC, which helps to loosen phlegm, I don't know any non-prescription treatments. I've never had asthma myself, despite the fact that I have a few auto-immune problems, so I've never done in-depth research. Try https://yandex.com/search/?text=natural+treatment+asthma
I slept great after finding my inhaler, yay
If u ever need prayer feel free to reach out to me. I will gladly add it to the daily prayer thread or you can wait till around 8pm edt and add it. God bless u. Praying for u
Also getting hate mail about this from one user so far. Looks like a shill but still
Is the hate mail from NewbishBewbish? Consider it a a badge of honor. And you can just block the retarded faggot like I did.
Yep! Glad to know I made the cut :)
You've been in my prayers today, fren.
Sorry to hear that, Tankstir. Magnesium is recommended for sleep so make sure you're not lacking that (most people are).
Breathing problems when lying down could be apnoeia. Try propping yourself up in bed to sleep. If you feel tightening of your throat, an asthma inhaler could help.
Panic attacks that are not related to breathing problems are a whole other subject but meditation helped my wife (sitting, not lying).
This is not medical advice. Just putting my thoughts down.
I do have a family history of sleep apnea and they are not overweight by much, maybe 10-20 lb. I only have these problems when sick and dealing with traumatic events like kids having life and death situations. Two kids in the last month and then the same two in the hospital for a week a year ago. I do snore regularly but I never wake up not being able to breathe. The only times are the situations listed earlier and it’s as I’m falling asleep. When falling asleep I also feel shaky and short of breath. I also don’t have issues napping during the day
Noted but I have nothing to add.
