It has always been this way in every Euro country - the people never wanted immigration, never. Guests? tourists? sure. Handing out citizenship - nobody ever wanted that.
Immigration was always done in the face of public opposition, it was done deliberately to harm, it was a vandalism, a strategy of attack, a proxy war against the cultures of Europe by "globalist" forces. We are easier to rule if we have no unified politics, so the homogeneity of European nations was targetted.
This is a lower number of objection to immigration than in the past! Do not think for one moment that public opinion drives the political decision to increase immigration, it never did and was always opposed. I would say 90% of natives would agree "guest workers, immigrants, and tourists should never be given citizenship or any financial benefit from the state". It's not hate, it's just good sense.
It's definitely a war on European, "white" culture. They want to destroy it - you used to be called a lot of isms on this topic 20 or so years ago, now finally people are coming to their senses.

Can confirm from at least my Frenchie friends that I've met through gaming, which has a lot of leftists too: A lot are as conservative as me, or even moreso, but are unable to do much due to Macron's control of the country.
They weren't in favor of immigration, and a lot of our views align as patriots of our respective countries; they give me shit for being American, I give them shit for being a baguette.
This is why the cabal used Nazis to represent "the right," though ideologically fascism is close to communism. They turned normal healthy nationalism into a taboo.
