I feel like the word 'anon' is being poisoned, much as QAnon became. At one time, anon was just a generic name/term for anyone using 4chan or 8chan, dating back to the beginning of 4chan, long before Q, and had no meaning beyond that. Now I see the term anon being used outside these places, presumably meaning people that have been awakened, whether they really are or not.
Where did this come from? I've seen a few people here, notably purekiss, pushing this term, and now Elon Musk is using it this way.
We know they like to change language to suit their needs, and I feel like the term 'anon' is being seeded and poisoned to turn normies away from people who question the narrative, especially on the chans, where real discussion and research still happens. Remember, at one time 'Qanon' was used casually in the chan circles until Q team asked for it not to be when the media started to pick it up. They're starting to do the same with 'anon'.
anon = short for anonymous
Simple as that. Why overcomplicate.
I’m in some Facebook groups where you have the choice to post anonymously. People will refer to the OP as anon all the time and they’re not Q people. At least I don’t think. Shit maybe they are. That’d be cool.
I admit i had a chuckle when elon said "anons"
As an anon, who works to remain anonymous online, i can't see any replies as an anon, just the primary post. To do that i have to sign in, after which i'm no longer anon (or lesser of an anon with another account).
anon is not poisoned. Q-anon is made up by the left. anon is authentic, a pure term which means what it says and says what it means.
We won't let our vocabulary be defined by leftist haters and propagandists.
from one anon fren to another
Right on!
Anons are anons. Patriots are patriots. Whitehats are whitehats. There may be some overlap, but in the main we understand the categories. Let's not blur things too much at this stage.
Yes, they like to change language mainly to demonize the right. The fact they do that as part of their arsenal of weapons does not mean the tactic has to be mutually exclusive.
We are allowed to use the tactic too. I see nothing wrong with labels our anonymous patriots as just anons. Those on the left that are anonymous probably hate it, but you can bet the scum isn't going to crawl out from under their rock and suddenly start using their real names. kek
pretty sure its a natural development. people love to take buzzwords and overapply them...
but people that read everything on the internet do tend to be pretty awake. and not always in ways that we agree with. really, anons are just 'we the people'. we the people are awake, collectively. the ones who aren't brainwashed or corrupted, at least. that's not to say we're all right about everything, or that our society has finished developing...
those brainwashed people are effectively at war with themselves by supporting the system that keeps them enslaved. yes they are people, and yes they are anons... but i think its okay if 'anon' sometimes refers to not just the individuals, but to the collective of people fighting for, and not against, individual rights.
I think you just made Mathletic's point.
well we said contradictory things, so you might wanna explain how

Q did not create the label "anon" but they certainly encouraged it. As reported by Kash Patel, DJT stated that he was very impressed by the acumen of some anons (he used that word).
The term anon was around decades before Q. It goes back to the early days of 4chan.
