Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
What works for stage two kidney failure?
My husband has reversed his stage 4 kidney failure (which was probably due to prescription drugs...he now takes a bunch of supplements...but nothing actually kidney specific...although there are great herbs, oils and supplements to improve kidney function...
This is one of the first articles I read on CKD and although we didn't do the specific suggestions in the article...it gave me a lot of info on how to improve his kidney health...

This diet was recently recommended by a friend who has gotten off all his medications and lost weight in the process...
The Good Gut Diet by Gerard Mullin M.D.
Praying for you. I'm not familiar with treatment options. I saw your comment about not going to another doctor and I understand this. Research functional medicine doctors in your area. If you can afford this might be a good option. Research Chinese medicine, Ayurveda medicine & herbal medicine. Some herbs, supplements or medicine might make it worse. Praying you find what's best.
I only had stage 1, but stopping the kidney attackers (certain food, medicine), and adding healing supplements helped me. You wouldn't believe how many medicines have small print warning of kidney failure. I reduced 80% of my medicines, changed foods, added supplements, added more SLEEP, and bounced back.
This is on track with what we are doing now, stopped the meds and trying garlic and such. I am interested in a natural help type herb. But no more big pharma and doctors
Don't just try garlic, DO garlic. And turmeric, and others. It's easy. 20 pills a day of healthy stuff, is a small price to pay for your life. I am on year #16 after my death note. Good luck with your choice.
Great advice
Don’t try, only do!
yes, cutting out NSAIDS was huge for me.
A non woke doc. Try https://covid19criticalcare.com/providers/
No, never going to another doctor of any kind. Thanks anyway.
Sorry to hear. If there was an MD who is also an anon would you consider seeing them? Just online. There's gotta be some.
Not really but thanks , the high blood pressure medicine is what destroy the kidneys. She stopped using it and has same results pressure wise, was hoping ivermectin or some herb would work. Thanks again.
