UPDATE: She's been found alive! She knocked on her family's door, alone, and was taken to a hospital. Police have not released any details about how she returned home or what happened. I am anxious to hear the rest of this story. It sounds like nothing short of a miracle.
It sounds like this poor woman was baited by a cartel member and is most likely now a victim of human trafficking along with the toddler. Members of her community are holding prayer vigils for her: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWD-vFqv6N0
I would also like to pray for Carlee's safety and ask my frens to do the same. This is absolutely horrifying and a reminder to every lady anon to be vigilant in these evil days. The world will soon wake up to the horrors happening right here in the US and all across the world.
From the article: "The search continues for a 25-year-old woman who disappeared when she pulled over on an Alabama interstate and told family members she was stopping to check on a child.
Just after 9:30 p.m., Carlethia "Carlee" Nichole Russell called 911 and then spoke to a family member, saying that she saw a child walking on the side of Interstate 459 South near Mile Market 11 in Hoover, Alabama.
FOX affiliate WBRC obtained a video of the traffic camera at the moment that Russell pulled to the side of the road. In the footage, her vehicle is seen from a distance with its hazard lights on.
Carlee's mother Talitha Russell said her daughter was on the phone with a family member when she pulled over to check on the child.
"My daughter-in-law could hear her ask if the child was OK, and the child didn't respond - at least she didn't hear her respond," Russell said. "Then she heard our daughter Carlee scream."
While the family lost contact with Carlee Russell, the line remained open.
When officers arrived at the location, they found Russell's red Mercedes still running on the side of the road. There were no signs of the woman or the child she was trying to help."
That is absolutely terrifying, and a MAJOR argument for 2A. You should never be forced to be vulnerable for things like this to occur, which is why this whole "keep guns locked in your trunk or dash or whatever" type of law is such bullshit too.
I really hope they are found and okay. Holy shit.
I have not been able to stop thinking about this story all day. It's frightening. As a woman, I know I'd feel obligated to stop if I saw a small child on the road. Who wouldn't? These predators take advantage of our kindness and compassion for others, something they will never feel for anyone.
Reading the comments on the videos about this case, many people are mentioning The Sound of Freedom and the timing of this story. It does make me wonder if something good could possibly come from this. I will continue to pray for this woman and her family.
So this is now looking more like some kind of hoax (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yn8mt5wtQD8), but who knows?
Like Sound of Freedom? Watch Ring of Silence.. Dramatized story of a real life girl from near where I live - trafficked while living at home with her dad, brother used as leverage.
Wow. Creepy story. Thanks for sharing. So sad.
This story is a bit strange , im not taking anything away from the horror of this happening every minute of the day! but a few things including :
The day she disappeared, Russell went to Harpersville, where officials say she briefly interacted with members of the city's police department.
"We were honored to spend time with this smart, courteous and honoring young woman yesterday. She was handling some business in the Town of Harpersville yesterday and we were so impressed by her respect, poise, good attitude and her drive to become a nursing student and help others," the Harpersville Police Department wrote on Facebook. "When this news broke, so did our hearts. This world needs many, many more young women and young men like her.
Why was she interacting with the cops ? She just reappeared and knocked on parents door ? I thank God she is alive and home, no matter how strange it sounds , rather have a strange story where the person is found alive then the other kind , but it’s just weird !!!
I totally agree. I really hope the police share the details with the public. After so many people came together to search and pray for her, they deserve to know what happened. From all accounts, she was a normal woman who held a job, went to school and church, and was well-thought-of by everyone. The part about her interacting with the other police department before she went missing is quite a coincidence, though. Someone on the news last night said that she appeared to be in shock when she returned home. Is it possible she escaped or her kidnapper got very sloppy? Or was the whole thing a hoax or a mental breakdown?
Wondering all this myself , have you heard any thing else by any chance ,, yes the whole thing seems strange ! Regardless hoax or whatever , atleast the ending wasn’t “ found dead , body thrown on side of road ! I Praise God for that
And sending a kid along a road does not guarantee you get a single woman stopping.
9/10 times it's a man or multiple people.
Also, Alabama is Concealed carry so maybe 1/3rd or the people who stop have a gun on them.
That’s so true about who’s driving !
if the cameras could see the car, we're they able to pick up anything else
I've seen the video, and it's so dark that it's hard to see what was going on. At one point, you can see her exit the car and walk to the other side, but that's about it. It's all so strange. One witness reported that they saw a man standing by the driver's side window. However, the cops arrived just a couple of minutes after she got out of the car, so how could she disappear so quickly? It's possible someone dragged her through the woods and to a vehicle on the other side, I guess.
Thank goodness she's alive.
