SoF has the potential to be traumatizing to people who already carry certain trauma, but the filmmakers clearly took conscious steps not to show anything too graphic. A better adjective would be upsetting, such as what the nurse played by Ali Landry says to Tim about Miguel.

Buddy, I don’t think it’s traumatizing to watch a movie that doesn’t even show anything bad. Sound like a woke snowflake if you expect everyone to be “mildly traumatized” from a movie lol. The real life victims are traumatized. This is nothing new in reality. Normies are not freaking out and checking into psychiatric wards because of this movie..
But I did see two, after the showing, bawling their eyes out. Outside of the theater, one said to me: "It's real, and I can hardly believe it."
This movie was not intended to be visually graphic, but was traumatic emotionally. Like Psycho not showing the murder...

Most movies start strong out of the gate and then viewership declines. This, on the other hand, has seen increased viewership as it goes.
