I know I tend to crack jokes , but allowing for a moment of serious reflection:
This is the first time I've been bothered by the idea of trans/gay/whatever in the military. I've always been of the belief that the bullet kills the enemy dead, whether the person firing the rifle is straight, gay, male, female, atheist, christian, whatever. The bullet doesn't care, and the enemy is just as dead.
But now? If a transgender soldier can skip deployments? Why even call them a soldier? The bullet won't be killing the enemy, the missile won't be fired, the mission objective uncompleted - at least by trans folks.
If sex/gender identity/preference don't matter in war, that's fine. Everybody fights. We win or lose as a group. If I trust the person who has my back, I couldn't care less what they've done with their genitals, or that they prefer opposite gender clothes, etc. But now suddenly it does matter? And they'll get special treatment? Nope. You can't have "equal treatment" while having "special treatment".
So, which one needs to go? Are we going to let a paraplegic soldier return to active duty on the front line because 'equality'? Hell no. He gets special treatment. A desk job, and an honorable discharge with a purple heart. Special treatment is noticing and assisting with differences to maximize everyone's function.
Equal treatment means a dude in a wheelchair is going to need to drag himself up a flight of stairs to go to work. Equal treatment means drafting women, and sending them into battle even if pregnant.
So, IMO? Fuck equal treatment. Regardless of your innate traits, you either meet the qualifications to be a soldier (which involves performing soldier duties) or you don't, in which case you're not (or are no longer) a soldier. Gender? Sex? Gay? Lesbian? Trans? Hell, even species. If you're a Nordic-grey alien hybrid born intersex, and you identify as a Panther, and on your own time dress in a furry pink bunny suit, but you join up and meet all the qualifications and follow the rules, you're in! Congrats. Oh, even though you joined the space force, you don't want to fight Grays because you're half-gray and worry that they will probe you if captured? Well, just don't report for duty, and once you're AWOL 30+ you can enjoy your dishonorable discharge.
I'm not usually so black and white, but in this case it is all or none. Can't have it both ways.
"This is the first time I've been bothered by the idea of trans/gay/whatever in the military."
Really? So the idea of having mentally ill people who cry over wrong pronouns wasn't a red flag or an issue for you in the first place?? These tards now have full access to guns and serious armouries etc.
Not if it didn't affect their performance on the job, nope. Not every commie leftest, hormonal tranny, or right winger is a problem-bomb waiting to go off. Sure, since there ARE people like that. (higher percentages for some groups, sure) they are supposed to be weeded out.
Naturally I'd prefer a based, red pilled, and skilled soldier watching my back. But I'd rather have a well trained tranny on my team that supports the mission because "it's the mission" than an armchair patriot who's only experience needing situational awareness is the times he's played call of duty.
There was a time when the secret service protected "the office" of the president, whether they agreed with his politics or not. A good soldier is the same. They protect this country and our freedom. Any other sentiments should be secondary.

Fair question.
