More casualities of woke indoctrination at the age of ten.
I am so glad we homeschool. We still have to screen everything else they are exposed to. My wife and I are starting to notice that my seven year old usually doesn't get along with other childern that have lefty parents.
Make sure the kids know that NOT being like everyone else is JUST FINE and WONDERFUL, even. Noah and his family were definitely not like the rest, and God blessed them for it!
God bless you both for homeschooling. A lot of work, and can test your patience, but 99% of families I know that homeschool work out incredibly well. If they don't, the problems always preceded the change to homeschooling.
Me too! He gets along best with other home schoolers. Also, kids who aren't tied to their ipads and video games. He just finished a summer sports camp where they did just sports and games for four hours each morning with an ex-marine. I felt like it was safe because his own son and daughter were there too. That is all an 8 year old kid wants to do anyways, get all that energy out instead of sitting in a chair all day.
I know one that's in something like that, and then another week it will be jr. golf in the early a.m., and now he's got 2 hours a day jump start to 5th grade on top of all that. And naturally he's earned some time to spend how he likes, and 100% of the time it's screens he'll choose. Grades are great at the private school, and he is seriously booked compared to what I remember summer being. The common couple weeks at overnight church camp, or soccer camp. Great times btw. But damn, now that kids don't roam the neighborhood nearly as much and their time is often so regimented or planned, for better or worse. Also one has to realize that he better get good at screen life and it's attendant cultures. It's where the kids roam now. I'm rambling.
But yeah. Just sucks to have to battle screens sometimes for attention. I know, I know, I should relax. The kids are alright.
Yes, we have to structure their time now, unlike the past. Different world. He loves the video games too when he steals the phone from us! I know other kids that do the screen all day with no extracurricular. It's like they don't know how to enjoy other things or use their imagination.
We tried it all - public school, private school, church based private school & home-school. We home schooled for a total of 23 years. Our 2 youngest children were home schooled thru out junior and senior high school. Home school is definitely the best option, especially today. When we started homeschooling the internet was available, later it was.
