To you it's "the devil." To the rest of the world it is a common variation of the V-Victory sign made famous by Winston Churchill. With plenty of other meanings going back to classic Hindu and Buddhist cultures.
Also, most youngsters unfortunately just copy what they see their 'icons' doing, until they get enough life experience and grow up.
The victory sign is done with the second and third fingers with the palm outwards.
Do this in the UK with the palm inwards and trouble will be yours.
