Talk is cheap. Best be sending out the Sgt of Arms to collect some folks.
If a quorum (the minimum number of members required to conduct business) is not present, the House of Representatives or the Senate may take steps to address the issue, such as sending the Sergeant at Arms or other officials to find absent Members and request their presence. However, they cannot forcibly bring Members to the chamber.
where are the rules? Hold the enemy to their own rules...
or, We The People do not allow anything immoral or illegal.
is there anything in the CFRs, wait, there was a change 4 days ago... little off topic.. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-12/chapter-II/subchapter-A/part-265/subpart-B/section-265.4
"Well Mr. Peabody, wonder what its about??" 'Sherman, if its Congress then its $$$$$'
How about witnesses ?
I'd have to ask ChatGPT. kek
Trump should have signed an EO giving the SoA the power to demand their presence on pain of execution.
Seriously? How would that have worked out during Trump's term, when Republicans would regularly ignore subpoenas from the Democrats?
And remember when the J6 committee subpoenaed Trump to turn over documents and testify....and he didn't?
Which βRepublicans β ignored Democrat subpoenas? Bannon for instance was charged even though he negotiated a settlement to appear.
This. Everyone talks a big game, but even when hauled into a congressional meeting, it's tough questions that get vague responses, then the other side of the aisle gets to push their propaganda and obfuscate...
Nothing ever comes from those, IMHO.
And that goes for both sides...they both play the game.
THAT is right.
House has the power to (a) vote to hold in contempt, and then (b) arrest via Sgt at Arms, and hold in jail up to 1 year or end of congressional term.
JUST. DO. IT.
