Just goes to show how those charts are manipulated - like practically everything anymore.
The CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) Industry IS Nashville. Always has been. Totally run by secular companies for profit and propaganda.
Not saying decent artists don't exist... just that the industry is run by Satan. E.g. Katy Perry went to Nashville as a teen because she wanted to be the next Amy Grant.
Been listening to country/western my entire life and not just what is "popular". Country music changed about 15 yrs ago for the worse and permanently it seems. Today's music is just pop music with saw dust sprinkled on it....<cough> Shania and her garbage. Even George Strait's music changed around that time, there was no more sense of Lefty, Hank, or Western Swing anymore in his music. Good artists who actually wrote their own music and could actually sing stopped showing on the radio, unless it was one of those stations that still played Marty Robbins, Hank Snow, Gary P Nunn, Texas Tornados, or the Statler Brothers.
No offense to those who listen to the 'new' stuff, but it lacks soul, lacks feeling, and no real story or lesson to it, rhyming words to a drum beat doesn't make a song. Take "He stopped loving her today', "San Angelo", or "If that ain't country", and so many more, they tell stories, they shine a light on slices of life that many other have lived. Today it is just a silly, catchy chorus yammered over and over.
Stopped listening to radio when country sold out to pop & rap. I have all my "oldies," and even my kids prefer the older, REAL country music.
Yup. Such a nice voice, too bad the other details are such a turn off.

OK guys. I always try and be non-judgmental and look at both sides before I render an opinion. I hate the photo above. I hate drag queens. I hate the guy's shitty Instagram posts. So I wanted to know how in the world this is trending on the Christian charts. Here's why. I think most don't know he's a drag queen, because he sure doesn't sound like one when he sings with a very hetero masculine voce. If you just heard this song without knowing anything else, you'd like it because it's about someone who left his church due to the minister's preaching, but came back for God. It's quite good.
This is the song if you want to listen for yourself:

Here are some of the lyrics:
Flamy Whatever it's name is.. is #9 not #1
it probably changed ranking after the article, the question is why was it there in the first place?
