Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
There are several possible reasons, but dehydration, anxiety or fever are common reasons.
I’m always harping about dehydration because most people don’t realize that thirst is not an early sign of dehydration. Fatigue is the first sign. Many people, especially in warm climates/seasons are dehydrated and don’t know it. Elderly (and I have no idea how old you are so I’m not implying) lose their sense of thirst as they age and can easily become dehydrated because they absolutely don’t hydrate enough. That, combined with a fever (commonly UTIs in elderly) can be deadly. Anyway, that could be why it was elevated. Just keep an eye on it.
I drink nothing but distilled or spring water for the most part and at least 3qts a day. When I'm feeling dehydrated, I feel pressure in my temples. I did have some really weird dreams the night before. Maybe that contributed. Maybe my body was fighting something off.
My mom is twice vaxxed and is plagued nearly perpetual UTIs. :(
I thank you for your help!
Research D-mannose, (some brands combine with cranberry) it's a natural prevention or treatment for UTI. I keep it around just in case I feel UTI coming on. I probably wouldn't use as a treatment for an elderly person (not sure how old you or mom are).
Probiotics help also. I'm not an expert on this subject. There's so many different probiotic and prebiotic strains used for different health conditions. Not every brand is good! I also keep this brand at home. You can find better prices online this is expensive and sold out in the site.
Does Not Have D-Mannose. https://www.gardenoflife.com/dr-formulated-probiotics-urinary-tract-vegetarian-capsules
Also I learned from experience multiple UTI can be a sign of something more serious. I posted my experience 2/2023. Over a year ago I had UTI with ecoli. Then a few symptoms over the next year and knocked it out with D-Mannose. During my experience in February my UTI also had ecoli. When it started I figured it was maybe my fault. Dr said it happens with women because it's all close 🚽 there again they don't know everything.
My mom had uti and septic infection a year ago. Took them months to figure out it was an infection from the bladder sling. It had created a cyst on her pelvis bone. She was on antibiotics for months.
Praying for you and your mom.
Thank you so much! My mom has held on to an infection for months, not knowing she had it. She was septic a couple months ago. I don't think she takes care of herself as she should. :( I'll tell her about the probiotics again and what you mentioned above.
You’re welcome. Be careful with the distilled. You need the minerals it doesn’t provide. Maybe you were slightly feverish. I hope you feel better!
We have a lot of Himalayan pink salt. I will try some of it. I think I'm more anxious than I realize for some stupid reason.
It may be that, too. I drink Body Armor as well. Probably should replace them!
Get Pedialyte powder, sticks. They’re fantastic!
If you’re drinking distilled water, are you taking minerals. The distilled water has no minerals left in it but I’m sure you know that. Just checking.
I drink Pedialyte a lot. I live in Arizona so we need to hydrate here. I had to do some work outside this week, and I drink to Pedialyte packs in my water within four hours. It’s so important to stay hydrated.
Thank you for reminding me!!
