Louisianian here. The libs down here have been seething about this for a few days. You know who signed it into law? Our Democrat governor. Go figure.
I’d also like to point out that the law only states that the motto has to be displayed. It doesn’t say “Christian God”, “Trump God”, or “Climate God”. It says “In God We Trust”. The same motto in our Pledge and on our money. To argue “church and state” is to argue that the public school system is a political organization, which it’s not. Nobody’s forcing the kids pray to anything, so you can take your “church and state” and shove it.
Thank you. I thought it's a good win.
Just smile and pay attention to who attacks this. Tells you all you need to know.
I will definitely watch it.
You better watch it buddy /s 🤣🤣🤣
LOL. Watching.
Is that against separation of church and state stuff or am I missing something? Eagerly wait to hear from someone
Public school isn’t the state. Public school is public. God’s children. This is a win.
No, the Establishment Clause prohibits the gov't from establishing a state religion. Remember, the Plymouth colonists left England because the King would not allow them to freely practice their faith. The original premise has been corrupted through the years. "In God we trust" was meant for Christians but really, this phrase can apply to any faith that has a God.
There is also a Free Exercise Clause that protects citizens right to practice their faith as long as it does not "run afoul" of public morals or against laws.
The left will be howling about that right now. They are not teaching Bible in class.
That's only for religions we don't like. ;)
Gay.
You don't mean homosexual? You mean happy? LOL
I think we have a troll here. (not you b_d)
God is the only thing I trust. Cannot trust the government. I can’t even trust half of my friends and family.
I trust my family until they started to try and forced me to take the vax. LOL. I don't trust the government, period.
So what. Yet another empty, token maneuver to placate certain zealots with no real substance. Why this gets so much attention, I have no idea. The pagan Roman governor could mandate that the sign "King of the Jews" be put prominently above the dying messiah Himself, but that would still mean nothing about state religious sentiments nor public spiritual revival. Its just politicians doing politicking. Window dressing and y'all being played.
Now if an invisible finger from the air had written a sign on Capitol Hill building that said MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN, that's when I'll start paying attention.
Are you tired of winning yet?
That is a nice win,now no more commies will move in...
Amen.
