Only problem is that the United States DS thinks that liberation from tyranny has something to do with bombing innocent civilians into the Stone Age. The theory being that if you kill enough people, the regime will be toppled - or something, something like that. Besides, if the powers at the top destroyed their USA human, drug and arms trafficking supply-routes they would not be able to fund their mansions. So, it's rules for thee, but not for me.
So, I agree with the sentiment of the tweet, but the solution has to become a wee bit more enlightened. We do not want to turn USA into Iraq, or Serbia, or Libya - you get my drift...to actually cut off the corrupt heads, but not kill civilians - where have I heard of that before? It sounds like the tasks of Herakles.
Probably one of the first people other than myself that compares things to the labors of Hercules
Very enlightening text..I almost think it should be posted for anons to read. The original epic poem was lost but I think whay has been pieced together is kind of interesting.
It is prolly a result of my misspent yoof, when I took a classics course at University. LOL. The main thesis of that course was that Ancient Greek myths are a reflection of the human condition, and can be applied thus to current affairs. The course material was applied to the modern Romance Novel, so concentrated on love affairs between the gods and Mortals, but Hercules did come up, and of course there were the Hercules cartoons B&W re-runs (on Arab TV, of all places) that were rehashed into others (e.g. He-man of the eighties) that we as kids were almost forced to watch ...
Thanks for the comment BTW.
