I have given it to my animals from time to time. It is supposed to be a good natural wormer. I have never taken it myself.
One thing you need to be cautious about with DE is breathing in the fine dust. Breathing it even in low doses over an extend time can cause silicosis. Most folks are not going to get a high enough concentration using it medicinally to get the disease but it always good to be aware.
I'm very aware of the dust lol our dogs brought fleas home one day so I put it all over our carpets. Bad move! It took many, many times aroundthe house with the vacuum cleaner to get rid of the clouds. Alsogot rid of the fleas though!
Use boric acid for fleas sprinkle all over carpet, couches, hard floors and leave for several days before vacuuming. I also put about a teaspoon in my drinking water daily. It has many benefits. Just ordered 5lbs pharmaceutical grade from Florida labs for $16.
Interesting. Never heard of this, but I'll be looking into it.
I think Borax, slightly different than boric acid. I think borax is ok to take internally, measured amounts, but not boric acid. They are different.
Actually boric acid is a more refined form of borax that contains more boron. It's a better insecticide than borax due to its finer particles.

And bc it has a higher boron content

I guess so. My mom uses boric acid on her eyes but I haven't heard of anyone taking it internally. I've heard of people ingesting borax. So just wanted to make sure you were aware.
To clarify, a lot of the bad stuff you read online states "when large amounts are injested" ...I started with 1/16 top and increased to about a tsp over several weeks. I used to suffer from bad knee pains and after about a month it's gone. I've been taking this for about 1.5yrs now
I could be wrong but I hear people take borax internally and not boric acid. Double check to make sure.
If you need something to get rid of the fleas in carpets use plain old table salt. It dehydrates them, and it is easy to vacuum out.
This is the safest.
same happened here.. it ruined the vacuum though
Use Borateem instead for fleas
That's why the only vacuum worth owning is a true HEPA vacuum because otherwise you are sending micro particles in the air to be re breathed.
Yes, i have had food grade DE for a while, and for about a year i would mix a spoonfool with water.. i called it my dirt water (because it looked like i was drinking muddy water), but i stopped because i wasn't really seeing any benefit/got lazy/forgot.
Yeah, I did the first couple days in just water. That was pretty rough! I've since started putting it in with some collagen and vanilla protein powder. Can't even taste it that way. Just a bit gritty lol
Yes, I have used it for years...it is quite an interesting product...there is nothing quite like it...here are 2 links from unleashed where this was featured...

If I ever see any ants...sprinkle a little DE on their path or at the base of the quarter round...they are gone... Same with fleas for a dog...I have indoor cats so I don't have to worry...but when I got them as kittens...they had fleas....can rub this into their fur and sprinkle on the bedding...

You, ma'am, have quite the bank of knowledge!
I am old so I have had a very long time to accumulate whatever knowledge I possess...I have never found an alternative therapy I wasn't interested in...God loves to expose us to things we don't know...
I did have 5 children that were (un)willing guinea pigs in all my trials and errors...those were the days...I could tell you stories...haha...

My pool does
I do... I'm sure it's helping digestion and internal cleansing. Supposed to be good for getting bad critters, within and without. I have a friend that ridded his apartment of bed bugs with DE. I restarted taking it recently by way of advice from the folk over at the "Human Garage".
Would that be like activated charcoal? If so please be aware that if you use it in proximity to your meals it will absorb and lock up nutrients and prevent you from utilizing them
I wouldn't think so. Diatomaceous earth is fossilized hard-shelled microalgae. Basically it's a very fine silica. Think microscopic razor blades. The way it kills bugs is by cutting through their exoskeletons. Once the exoskeletons are breached they dry out inside. That's a much different process than activated charcoal which absorbs moisture around it, including the water soluble nutrients and vitamins the moisture contains.
right but if I remember that stuff is very porous and absorbs all moisture
Silica doesn't absorb moisture. Diatomaceous earth actually allows liquids to flow through while capturing unwanted material.
Well I stand corrected! Might have to look into this then
I cannot comment on that one. No idea.
Same reason that zeolite warns you not to take it at the same time as any medications.
Yes I used to for a while. I had more energy for the first week. I stopped taking after a month and didn't notice a difference. I think it's one of the body cleanse things I should do every now and then.
How is this "off topic", but the countless ivermectin threads are "on topic"? What is the "topic" here? Q? How does ivermectin relate to Q?
Yes, boss.
