If we acknowledge the obvious fact that Trump will be added to Mount Rushmore, then we should consider further: there will be an additional mount. Mount #2. For the few media figures that have stood up and became our vocal, brave media "fathers."
So... Rush, Tucker, Bannon, and.... who? Lara?

How do you see us getting to a place in this country where adding Trump's face to Mt Rushmore would not be exceedingly divisive? A portion of this country hates Trump, and they would be inflamed by such an action. And as much as we may dislike those people, eventually we will need to bring this nation together for healing to occur.
He's more admired than you estimate. And he'd look great on the Mount.

I estimate Trump to be very admirable indeed. But you don't understand how much some percentage of this country truly hates the man. If we made a Trump Mount #2 today it would enrage a significant portion of this country. How do we deal with that?

I didn't say you underestimate his admirability. I said you underestimate how broadly admired he is.
And you underestimate how truly reviled he is by a certain percentage of this country.
Oh, he's reviled. But the certain percentage is small. Not trivial. But small.
I hope and believe that you are correct. But I do believe that percentage is large enough that we can't simply write them all off as lost. At some point there must be reconciliation and healing.
I've not mentioned writing anyone off as lost.
But, to not cunt about on all of this, let's ask a direct question: was Lincoln carved on that mount, despite presiding over a Civil War and a considerable portion of the nation resisting him?
You know the answer. And you know Trump's appearance on that mount is inevitable. And you know Lincoln's appearance was, at the time, much more unlikely.
