It’s inert. Not like charcoal brickets. There is medical grade charcoal. It’s used in pretty much any situation when someone eats or swallows something they aren’t supposed to. It soaks it up and pushes everything out. It makes you shit your pants though. It’s like eating pure fiber. Everything in your guts is going to come out with that charcoal.
Activated charcoal is an amazing substance. Please everyone research what this simple thing is capable of doing for you. There is a reason it is still used extensively in ERs as poison and overdose antidote.
Sorry! I should’ve elaborated. Activated charcoal (not the charcoal for grilling) supposedly also clears one’s blood of toxins that one’s kidney, spleen, and liver aren’t able to clear.
Charcoal is also used as respirator filtration and water filtration.
Still used in many non-fluoridated tooth pastes as well.
