It appears to be possible, mind you this is a satellite or Ariel view, it appears to be not centered upon the structures but off to one side. Did they have "smart meters" in Hawaii? I'm not disrespecting or discrediting the poster here, just wondering if what those black spots are where the power and gas went into the buildings. Some have speculated nefarious reasons were behind the installation of smart meters.

It does appear to be right where a meter and fuse box would be. The question is, how did every one of those fail simultaneously. Would have had to have been one hell of a power surge.
