This is a golden opportunity. I remember an interview with Bashar al Assad from Syria. He came across as genuine, to me, at least. He was trying to defend his own people. There were several attempted invasions on his borders. He denied using any chemical weapons. The War Machine was painting the situation as a chemical weapons attack on the Syrian people, led by Assad. It was a set up, imho. I just searched Qwant and every article on there is slanted towards what the UN and the United States govt. have determined. I remember when this happened there was some evidence that the gas used was from somewhere other than the Syrian govt. Every article I saw was by the Washington Post, AP, NYT, etc. It looks like the internet has been scrubbed of this. I’ll keep looking for sauce.
I followed one Syrian journalist on Twitter (before I got perma-banned) and I am convinced that Assad is a closet Christian.
I am, as well. The guy struck me as genuine. I can’t remember who the interviewer was. Maybe it was Bill O’Reilly. Anyway, Assad took some tough questions. I kept thinking, he’s telling the truth. That was my first hint that we, the USA, we’re up to some nefarious shit. All of the articles I ran into today started with “The UN has determined…”or the US has concluded…”, with no actual proof of their claims.
Honestly, I think they would find a way to censor this - they cannot afford to hear that Putin is reasonable and he is a "Russia First" guy.
