Please make sure you do your own research. I am not a lawyer.
This seems like something that would be touted by the Sovereign Citizen Movement. And I've never seen them win a court case using these types of tactics when it comes to not paying taxes.
But if anyone knows of a court case where this type of thing ever worked, please share it. I mean, who doesn't dream about being able to ignore tax collectors without being penalized?
I just think this type of thing gets people's hopes up unrealistically. The same with anything that is put out regarding the Sovereign Citizen Movement. And there are many people out there who have royally screwed up their lives using those tactics trying to get out of paying fines and taxes.
The fact that they spelled Sovereignty wrong in their "Guide to Severeingty" isn't too reassuring either.
😂😂
Actually William Cooper did not pay taxes and he explains how he did it in a video presentation. I posted the information but it was taken down...can't remember...off topic...not Q related or conspiracy...I have seen them all...it was quite interesting...
The IRS harassed him and the government obviously was NOT happy...he basically did not own anything...I believe a trust did...it was ingenious...
He died after a shootout with sheriffs when they came to his home to arrest him for aggravated assault.
Based on what I'm reading here, there were still warrants out on him for tax evasion. He was just able to elude capture for a long time.
I don't think that really counts as successfully or legally avoiding paying taxes.
He WAS doing it in the confines of the law...that is what frustrated the govenment...since you did not see the interview you do not have a clear perception of his tactic...they can accuse him of tax evasion but that does not mean the charges were winnable for the government...I will find the lectures....
I do see that he had arrest warrants for tax evasion at the time of his death.
So whatever he was doing, legal or not, was not being recognized by TPTB.
It doesn't matter how many lectures he gave. If it's not recognized by the court, it's essentially meaningless.
I'm sure he was convinced what he was doing was legal. But again, TPTB disagreed with him.
This is what I was talking about when I said that I've never seen any strategy from the Sovereign Citizen Movement be upheld in a court of law.
And his strategy obviously wasn't upheld in a court of law seeing as how he died while there were still warrants out over his arrest for tax evasion.
I am curious why he avoided being served with papers for tax evasion if he believed he was doing so legally and would win that case.
From what I'm reading now, he died because he vowed to not be taken into police custody alive, partly because of the tax evasion situation.
That's why I said do your own research.
Why share it in the first place, though, when there is zero evidence it works? It's just spreading false hope.
"Do your own research" is just a get-out-of-jail-free card to cover your ass when some idiot convinces themselves that they are special enough somehow for this stuff to work for them. That's why this type of thing continues to suck people in, when there is zero evidence that it works.
You might want to take a look at Pitcairn Island
What about them? Just doing a brief run-through of their history, the only thing that sticks out that might pertain to this conversation is that they have no sales or income tax.
If this is why you mention them, what does that have to do with this topic?
Edited to add:
Before anyone gets too excited over the idea of moving to the Pitcairn Islands so they don't have to pay income or sales tax, please note they have civil conscription. That means citizens must work (for free), doing things like digging ditches or building roads or whatever else needs to be done to build and maintain the infrastructure on the island.
That's not remotely similar to what the Sovereign Citizens Movement is about.
