Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.

Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Sometimes I can truly sabotage myself. Yesterday was my husband’s birthday and we had homemade brownie with ice cream (copy cat outback thunder from down under). It’s 5:3 am and I’ve had the worst indigestion or heartburn since about 11. I’m not home and only have a few herbal teas and tinctures. Lightbulb went off about thirty minutes ago to make tea. After drinking 1/4 cup lemongrass tea I’m back to normal. Nature is amazing!
Fwiw, whenever I have difficulties like this I always forget tea. And it always helps when (if) I remember to drink some.
Your anecdote serves as a gentle reminder. Hope things are better now.
Thanks I'm much better. Yes herbal tea is amazing. I went to a local community market that has a good herbal supply. I got fennel seeds (you chew them) kinda tastes like licorice I could tolerate it. I've known about this remedy for a while but never bought them. Also bought Orange Bitters it's used as a preventative and digestive treatment. I'm not very educated in bitters. They are a very old remedy that is making a comeback. Tasting the bitterness is helpful to our system. It's something I've got to dig into.

also look into Swedish Bitters- they are amazing for digestive issues and health in general
Is Swedish Bitters a brand name?
No. There are different companies that produce Swedish Bitters, both in liquid and pill form. The liquid is usually made using alcohol in the extraction process and tastes very bitter, but works very quickly for indigestion, nausea, etc. It is an old herbal formula based on an even older herbal formula said to cure many, many diseases and, if used daily, to keep oneself healthy. "Swedish Bitters is a 500 year old European Remedy to rejuvenate vital organs, improve regularity, aid digestion, and cleanse the system." The Swedish doctor (Samst) who popularized the elixir was said to have lived to the age of 104 - when, one day out riding, he fell from his horse!
Thanks for the info. I'm familiar with herbal tinctures made with alcohol and herbal bitters. I've got a mini supply at home. I'll research the Swedish bitters.
I will need to look into Lemongrass more.
I love lemon grass tea it's very smooth and it's a calming tea. Don't steep too long. I want to get an organic plant next spring. Until then I order it. I'm currently using this brand (link below) I like this brand of tea and buy local but can't find lemongrass. You can probably find on their website. This net teabag can be used twice. FYI lemongrass isn't especially for indigestion. Most herbal tea soothes my stomach. Unfortunately I'm still having issues and I've tried several remedies. I think my system is just off this past week. I finally took 1/4 phenergan and I'm fine. If I was home I would have had what I needed. I'm out of town and might run to a local store and get ginger and lemon. That's one of the best remedies for myself for digestive problems. Also very simple. This site has great information.
