Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
why can't my old dog just pass in her sleep? She is failing, she is old, she has a cluster of issues due to liver cancer, her pain is somehwhat controlled, I dread and hate this decision you have to make for them. It seems that people pass easier when they have this many issues, but a loved dog or cat? My God they fight it .. of course it is a holiday weekend and the vet that would come to my home would not be available anyway. I am incapable of doing it myself with my gun, I just could not. This is not my first rodeo, but she is my last sheppie, I've had them all my life, the best dogs in the world, english shepherds, but they bind to my heart just too hard, and their stoicism and refusal to leave you breaks my heart. I have another dog, but no more sheppies, and as she dies, she takes what was left of my youth and energy and memories of hiking and dealing with the homestead through blizzards and ice storms with her. God, I hate this.
I feel so bad for you. I have two old souls as well. Maybe she is holding on for you. Just let her know it’s ok to go. I pray for God to take mine in their sleep when it’s time. Praying for you 🙏🏻
Prayers sister. You've got a way with words that conveys your capacity for emotions. I feel you. 🙏♥️
Did you give her fenbendazole?
I will pray for strength for you. May the Peace of God which passes understanding be with you today.
