I agree with the sentiment, but every facet of human evolution and maturity comes from following others who are older or more educated.
Your grasp of language? Mathematics? Science? None of that manifested in a vacuum.
It is perfectly reasonable to take the advice of someone in a field you have no experience in. If a technician suggests the installation of something, you don't just give them the middle finger and walk away. If a doctor suggests you stop the bleeding from that gunshot wound, you don't just spite them.
Yes, there is vexation in people who don't verify for themselves, but it is too easy for people who have access to not only the information, but where to find the information.
We must also never forget that we are facing propaganda programs that are valued in the billions of dollars, with complicity from just about every avenue.
Even if you aren't one of the sheep, it makes perfect sense to get caught up into it if you don't even know where to start asking questions.
We got a headstart. We had large reach on social media. But there are still billions in this world who didn't use Reddit or Facebook or Twitter before they started this oppressive push.
It's easy to write everyone off as dumb sheep, but it's not intelligence that leads one to that conclusion. You cannot sit there and treat the majority of people as lessers, because you and I are their lesser in one fashion or another.
How about we focus the ire at the people pushing it, lying to the public, using positions of authority to refute criticism or contrary information, and using the media to suppress information that runs contrary to their interests?
Those are the people I'm mad at.
