Oh yes. I remember pet rocks. I wasn't interested in them at the time because to me it was stupid. I would rather buy Chia Pet, at least that way it puts oxygen or some herbs for me. :)
It's been HARD for those of us who actually DO produce tangible goods and skilled services. Damned hard.
It's been one kick in the nuts after another since 9/11/2001...2008, The Obongo years - you didn't build that & ObongoCare - 2012, 2016, 2019 Covid - You'd think that we were at war for our lives and way of life or something? /s
Then of course you have the added challenge of "public" and their warped perceptions of what things should cost, while they frequent dollar stores, Ebay and Amazon with knock off cheap Chinese goods shipped in e-packets from China cheaper than we could ship from here to the next town over.
Most have NO clue whatsoever regarding either manufacturing of any kind - or even running a real business. They think because you have a business it's like winning the lottery where you're flush with cash and you somehow have all this free time to maybe watch their kid or something...Fantasy land.
As I said...It's been damned hard for a lot of us.
I often wonder if we're the stupid ones - why not just milk off the dole like these clowns? - Because God didn't make us that way.
Hey you are spot on there. It was amazing when I first came out that client actually try to haggle me on eBay. The product was one of a kind and yet, I was asked to drop a lot and I did not.

We are in the era of digital. We dont produce anything but virtual nonesense. If you live in the real world, life is hard.
We forgot how to produce. Good thing I learned and produce. It's hard even if you can produce. Regulations and things will take half.
Still, I do produce. LOL
Remember the guy who created and sold the pet rocks? Our whole economy is based off selling virtual pet rocks.
When the reckoning happens, the world will realize that everything digital is worth nothing.
So far its been a bunch of far fetched valuations on tech company's that arent worth anything.
