Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.

In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Any anons actually play Starfield?
These types of games are not my thing but one, it's in space and two, it's the first Xbox exclusive game in years.
Being Bethesda, I am expecting woke writing, ugly women, boring gameplay, and needless side quests..but SOO many normies are bitching about it that just maybe it's actually good and not just Skyrim in space?
I haven't heard of that. My family doesn't play any games. Probably a good thing it's a solitary hobby. I'm uncoordinated even at video games. Back when my husband got play station in the mid 90s he and my daughter played Mario and it looked like fun. I beat poor Mario to death trying to jump those poles. Glad I was entertaining to them. I grew up during the age of first video games, Atari and then game room hang out as a teen. I stuck to pinball wasn't great but didn't suck either. About a year ago I found games on Yandex. Occasionally I play spider solitaire. If Some card games on there are to easy I play the challenging ones. Makes sense that I lean towards online cards I learned to play cards very early in life. I'd love to play real people occasionally. My dad's mom was the card player and taught me. When my granddad died she stayed Sunday night with us and we played for hours.
I love spider solitaire and I also do sudoku...two wonderful solitary games. Our family is big on games like Phase 10, Uno, Rummi-Cube, Jenga or really anything. I would try to do Mario Party with the kids and I couldn't even beat the grandkids...but I love playing some of those Wii games....even bowling. I usually won at Wheel of Fortune. As a kid we played Pinocle and I really love card games...we grew up on pin ball machines also...what a lot of fun...there is nothing like family fun and togetherness...and games, games games...
Family games are great. Sounds like your family has great times together. That's a lost treasure today. I didn't grow up playing games with my family except cards. I played monopoly with one friend a lot & still have that game. My little family of three played games a lot and the only game I could win was trouble. My husband is a master mind you don't want to play him in cards or any thinking game. I talk to much for strategy unless I'm pulling a prank and I'm excellent. My daughter's husband likes games also occasionally we all play a game.
I love master mind...but as I have gotten older the younger ones always seem to win...I tell you the Wii Monopoly game is a LOT of fun...the boards are so updated and modern. You know as everyone gets more involved in their kids growing up it is harder to get together.
But...even when my daughter and I went out to dinner lately we played Phase 10 waiting for the food and then throughout eating. Hey...remember that triangle game where you are left with only one peg...if you win...I grew up on that. When we used to play the game of aggravation people would get so aggravated we had to stop playing that game...life is so funny so often.
I had 3 brothers and sisters growing up and then my husband and I had five kids so there was ALWAYS someone to play games with...but alas they are all married and gone so we only play on holidays or other get togethers. That is why I do a lot of spider solitaire, sudoku, crossword puzzles and I also play Word Crush on my phone. Really good memories...and I love a GOOD memory...
