Javier Milei is extensively knowledgeable about economics
He quotes Milton Friedman as an intellectual source of some of his ideas on economics, helping identify him as a free market capitalist
When compared with Trump, he demurs, but does acknowledge the similarities of their celebrity status and how that can be very useful for a politician
He knows the deep history of socialism that few in the US know. Like our Wilson-era "progressives," Argentina drifted towards socialism as well. Many countries did following WWI and the global mass poverty that so many experienced.
He is eloquent and insightful about the connections of socialist thought to all aspects of culture and society
He connects socialism to art and religion
He correctly identifies and explains how the class struggle morphed into various other struggles which were coopted after the class struggle narratives failed the Soviet bloc countries in post-war Europe (ie intersectionality)
He respects religion intimately, but refuses to say that he prays.
He ardently criticizes the Pope on specific theological matters, but does not call him names. He still seems to maintain respect for the papacy and the value of the Catholic church as a moral institution
He passionately defends liberty and freedom
The CIA is going to try like hell to rig that election. God willing, he wins.
He still seems to maintain respect for the papacy and the value of the Catholic church as a moral institution.
For better or worse. The Catholic Church and by extension the Papacy maintains an inordinate amount of influence in South America. So he probably is going out of his way to be careful with how he discusses the Catholic Church. A real measure of his opinion and respect, or lack thereof, for the Church would be his rhetoric and actions in regards to the church once in office.
I want to say that by a few key standouts in your writing, I feel you're a rather intellectual person. Maybe not super smart, but definitely stands out.
The interview is well worth watching:

He was very tactful while disagreeing with the current pope, calling him a political figure instead of a religious one.
Yes he said Bergoglio sympathizes, not participates in, that will be the last step. And that was gentle and tactful for Milei, lol
Thanks for the summary.
