Pretty much every single article has this incorrect. Paxton was acquitted on 12 charges out of 16, and the Senate voted to dismiss the other 4. He was acquitted on 12 and 4 were completely dismissed. The end result is the same - Paxton is back at work - but that is just shitty journalism and shows how much each news organization copies from each other.
Interestingly that says a lot (the dismissals). Votes for impeachment articles require 2/3 to convict, but the vote to dismiss 4 of the articles only required a majority. For the dems to go along with that vote and not force 4 more acquittals I think it means they didn't think they even had a chance.
Sad part is even this article says he was acquitted of all 16 articles. Just look at the last vote - "MOTION TO DISMISS OTHER IMPEACHMENT ARTICLES". Since that passed those 4 articles were dismissed. You can't be acquitted on something if the article was never voted on.
Oh, I think you can rest assured that they have the stories written well in advance of what happens. Different propaganda stories to cover multiple outcomes.
There were originally 20 articles and he was acquitted on 16 and the other 4 were dismissed. Since there were only 30 Senators voting, Paxton only had to receive 10 votes on each article for acquittal. The least number of actual acquittal votes for any article was 16. To dismiss the 4 remaining articles, a majority of the Senate (16 votes) was required. The actual vote was 19 yes and 11 no. If the dismissed articles had been voted on, only 10 votes each would have been need to acquit.

They don’t copy each other. They all get their news from the same place.

I get what you're sayin' - but it is not 4am yet. They did this on their own.
