Don’t judge.. lest you be judged…that’s all I can say. All are Gods children & should be looked & treated as such. Modesty should be encouraged but that’s an age old tale..
serious question, are all ‘God’s children’? curious because of the parable of the wheat and the tares, & what Vigano said in his letters to President Trump…
“Mr. President, than by prayer, asking the Lord to protect you, the United States, and all of humanity from this enormous attack of the Enemy? Before the power of prayer, the deceptions of the children of darkness will collapse, their plots will be revealed, their betrayal will be shown, their frightening power will end in nothing, brought to light and exposed for what it is: an infernal deception.”
All are - some obedient some aren’t. Satan was the most beautiful arc angel and he took 1/3 of the angels with him when he got kicked out of heaven. God separates the wheat from the tares- at the end- not man. In the meantime humanity grows alongside with the weeds.
then who are the 'children of darkness' if 'all are'?
Jesus mentions the disobedient in his 'explanation' about the wheat and the tares; says they're the 'children of the devil' & the reapers aren't God, they're the angels.🤔
"He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"
I've been researching various religions/fascinated by hylics/automotons mentioned, trying to reconcile with what the Bible says ^
yes, they're obviously disobedient since they're evil, but I'm using the parable as reference & it says; "but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil."
so I'm still confused how they're 'children of God' if they're the 'sons of the wicked one'?
to me, they seem to be the devil's avatars, so he's the ensouled being running his puppets. have also been reading about hylics, automatons, etc. how discarnate spirits take over; like I said, trying to reconcile with the Bible.
I don't think I've ever used the word "unhinged" before. But that was an unhinged rant full of strawmen.
You're defensive because you're not getting it. It's not a judgement thing. It's advice given by OP and by God for your own benefit. Not because anyone is trying to control you. Nobody is trying to prevent you from showing off your hotwife's ass in Lululemon leggings so that other men can imagine her being on top. It just might not be best.
It's ok for OP (and God) to suggest avoiding obsession over the outer and instead focussing on the inner. Your goal as a Christian should be to be true. Not false. It's not good for your wife to put on a false-face in order to misrepresent herself to the world. It's also not good for others to be fooled by outward appearances and dazzled by baubles dangling from her (or from you, a man who wears jewelry..).
We're here in this world because we've been dazzled by the outer. We've lusted after things that have luster. Things that reflect light outwardly. Seeing inner light is the way out of this world. Inner light is easily overshadowed by the garish outward light that has you so fascinated. I have trouble understanding how you call yourself "spiritual" while not understanding this basic spiritual concept.
Are you having true spiritual experiences? In my experience, putting focus on the management of outward appearances really hampers one's ability to connect with God. That's why the bible instructs against it. It's not an arbitrary personal attack against you and your wife.
Anyhoo, for your own reflective purposes, you should know that, in Truth, you've been a dishonest, judgmental, name-calling liar, bearing false-witness throughout this thread. But those are just inner qualities, so they might not not be of any import to you.
I am spiritual because I am above your superficial piety.
Max cringe. The defense of superficiality has been the explicit aim of everything you've written in this thread.
Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, [2] when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. [3] Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. [4] Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. [5] For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands, [6] like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.
like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.”
And look what happened there, later, when Hagar was given to Abraham. All hell broke loose, and Sarah paid the price for calling Abraham “master”. Everyone is STILL paying the price.
I personally haven't worn makeup in over a decade, don't dye my hair, don't really cut it either but it sure could use a trim, and wear mainly black and grey. But that's me. I often say I try to dress in a way that makes me completely unnoticeable and practically invisible. When I see women over dressed with pounds of makeup and ridiculous hair I roll my eyes because all is see is someone screaming "attention everyone: look at me please". But hey, that's just me. And that's what goes through my head. Because modern women look like clowns to me. And being a girl with 3 sisters and all my high school friends combined, I'm quite certain I know why they all feel the need to present a fake persona to the world. Call me judgy, I don't care. We all judge people all day long. I'm not like this for religious reasons, I'm like this for common sense reasons. I'll take my fellow women seriously when they stop wearing costumes everywhere they go.
I agree with this post and I'm very intrigued by how many oppose the idea of modesty. I raised four daughters. We encouraged the ideas of modesty and humility. They all had to find their own way, as did I, back in the day. But one way or the other, they all found their way back to modesty. Ditched the makeup etc. And they're all beautiful in and out. They're all appreciated by their community. They all live as the Lord suggests when it comes to their husbands/bf's and in how they raise their children. And they are respected for it.
What you wear on your ass to impress yourself and others will NOT help you in the afterlife. What you wear on your HEART AND SOUL.....those are what matter.
Yeah I am fine with bright clothes but I have an old car. I just finished building a normal sized house. It's weird people think I am poor but I just don't like to look wealthy and be in debt.
Teach them to work. Teach them to manage their finances. You not buying jewelry doesn’t help the poor. Plenty of poor people work in jewelry stores. Handouts help nobody. Buy away.
I wear what is comfortable. Work pants/shorts a size too big, but with a belt and a pair of suspenders. Not working? sweats or shorts and tshirt (short or long sleeve) and maybe a hoodie. Comfortably Humb(le)

Best of luck out there.
Fuck theocrats as much as democrats. They’re all autocrats.
All I see in Scripture is a man should dress like a man and a women should dress like a women. So is this a opinion or is it Scripture?
1st timothy chapter 2 verse 9.
I was just reading it this morning, how peculiar.
Reading it now , thanks ,
Yeah that sort of thing comes up in proverbs a few times too.

Enough.
