The older generation really believed whatever Cronkite or Severide or Jennings spewed forth because our parents believed in an inherent honesty that America stood for. They could never believe that people in power would lie, cheat on their spouse,yes, but not lie to the American people. Was a different mind set a few decades ago, but the newer generations have learned that politicians lie and steal. That big money is what turns votes into bigger money. And corruption corrupts everything around it. Our parents could not see that, but we can.

Truth right there. My mom passed recently @ 80 years old. God rest her soul she still believed the news.
