I think Musk capitalized heavy on the EV and Solar shit knowing full well it's junk, because his stated goal is Mars where it's not only viable but necessary because an EV wins over an ICE when there's no oxygen lol.
I think a deal was struck. Space X gets the hand up over Boeing/Raytheon et al via the Space Force which means he won't get financially obliterated when Green Energy is exposed as a scam with climate change. Cause if we knock off the emissions standards bullshit and focus purely on pollution then ICE will ghost EV vehicles on price and performance extremely quickly.
If US auto companies adopted the Shelby "more = better" mentality they wouldn't be struggling, especially with the refinement of current engines.
