Yeah I've never really thought the rapture interpretation made sense, it doesn't seem to follow suit with the rest of the Bible, even in circumstances where God's people are saved they're not just zoomed up in the sky, they have to follow Moses through the desert for one example.
I hear that. And, that's an excellent example!
I've always looked at like this: the hunky dory rapture narrative is relatively new. Didn't become popular until the 19th century in America.
I agree, Christian's souls will certainly be saved. But the physical body must die all the same. No where in scripture does it specifically state we shall not endure death before ascension.
