Yup. There is literally nothing that makes you feel better about yourself than buying an EV: "Look at me, everybody. I'm both saving the planet AND I'm better than all of you."
Proof that buying an EV is equivalent to the statement "saving the planet" is self evident to anyone who stays informed by watching the MSM. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a bigot.
Yet if you scroll through YouTube you'll come across random videos of Tesla owners telling curious bystanders that a fill-up only costs about $10. Well both claims can't be true so I guess the only way to find out for yourself is to buy a Tesla.... sucker.
Hahahaha - buddies wife had to get the new KIA full electric car traded in a 2021 Subaru for it. Drove it on the 3rd day from Dallas to Austin and almost bricked it. Half way home she had to find a charging station and sit for an 1 hour and a half for a charge. Buddy just shook his head as did I.😂😂😂😂
The Hummer EV did not put a waterproof seal around the BATTERY CAGE! If you go into water more than 2 ft it enters the cage and they catch fire. Think about that, they designed an off road vehicle and didn’t think to water proof the compartment holding the batteries.
Oh, and the whole “batteries made in USA at GM plants” lies, over 1,000 Chinese are working in these battery producing plants NOT Americans.
Well that's your problem right there. They aren't actually meant for charging and driving. They are only meant to be worshiped on the alter of Climate Change. You have an attitude problem, sonny gurlie.
I’m a lil lady and I tell anyone that comes in to look at it, “You don’t want that, let’s go look at a diesel”
I also know I will leave car sales entirely if they truly push to 100% EV.
I think the dam is going to break soon. Once insurance companies get involved you won’t be able to buy one because you won’t be able to insure it. You won’t be able to afford an at home charging station because your home insurance will raise with the risk.
Only people without any real work to do drive EVs. Working people with real agendas still have to do with gas or more likely diesel. If we actually ran the American economy on EVs and not on fuel, they'd be on fire at a much higher rate.
Lithium battery fires are not a new thing. The RC industry has know about them for a long time as they use those batteries in their cars, planes, helicopters and drones. I read about people’s houses being burned down due to a fire that started when charging their batteries. The tech is better now but there is still a big risk when charging and if there is a short in the wiring. Vibration would be the main cause of a short in a car, bigger risk the older the car is.
Combustible engines are more prone to fire but EV fires are a beast much harder to battle. They burn much hotter and are harder to put out. Meaning, they will always use a SHIT TON more water and more emergency resources (fire fighters) because they burn a lot hotter and a whole lot longer. They also risk reigniting.
Your house is on fire but the truck can’t get to you because it’s had a hose on a Tesla for 5 hrs.
EV's are made and sold so liberals can make believe their solving a crisis that doesn't actually exist.

"The leading cause of, Smug."
Friends daughter bought a Tesla last year, she spends on average $250 more a month than her sister who drives a 4WD suv

Our local news rags have near daily EV propaganda pieces. None of them ever tell you how much it costs to charge the vehicles. Never.

It’ll only put you back $165,000. It took us 10 days to charge it in the dealership plugged into a regular outlet.

"I’m a lil lady" FIXED ;)
Yea, not where I live. I moved away from a 15 min city life and I’m never going back.
Ev's are a great supplement, not a replacement.
Example, the milk "floats" in the UK.
Small delivery vehicles that come down the road each morning with clinking milk bottles announcing their approach.
Very nice, clean & quiet.
Short range and highly functional.
Don't try it with tractor trailers on US Interstate highways.
Allegedly there is a higher percentage of normal car fires than EV’s….I am not sure of the real stats.

No one said they are a new thing.

Yes, we all know this….
True, all I was speaking about was the stats….and then some go off on tangents
No it’s fine, no apologies….I didn’t mean to whack a hornets nest, I have seen some EV cultists speak of the statistics and I haven’t found them….
It would be interesting to know how many combustion engined car fires are actually electrical fires initially.
My experience working on vehicles indicates it's probably a high percentage.
How about it?
I was just wondering if anyone had the statistics…ffs.
Thanks!
Elon is an asset, and like all assets at this point, controlled by WHs, no matter who pulls his strings directly.
Elon said within the last couple weeks we need to take a step back and hard pause on AI I’m not sure about EVs.
