They are a major energy company and they see the writing on the wall. If their employees can’t fly to headquarters for periodic meetings, then they need to live near headquarters.
France has banned short-haul flights. If you can get someplace by train within three hours, then you will not be able or allowed to fly there. Two other European countries are following suit, and Canada and the US will be next.
My job is in travel and tourism. I was going to expand and offer more tours, but not anymore. Air travel will be prohibitively expensive once they add the carbon tax to all air travel.
