Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
How would you drop a red pill?
I recently went on a trip and met a lesbian couple from California. They had a son. They weren't rainbow-wearing, loud and proud lesbians. They were pretty regular for the most part. They were friendly, no "pride" stuff. Just dressing in matching shirts and the one had a more masculine style haircut. Like if you had met them individually, you might not be able to tell so easily. They were nice and I genuinely enjoyed conversing with them.
They expressed to me how they're afraid to take their son to Target for fear of mobs. They're afraid of taking him to the park because of junkies and stuff. Then they told me that they want to move to my state. I wanted to tell them to only come if they intend on voting the way that people in my state vote: low taxes, low crime. The only problem is that I couldn't think of a polite way to say it!
I've been thinking about this for a couple of weeks. What could I have politely said to express that the people of California are just reaping what they have sown? I know, not the red parts, but whatever.
What would you politely say in a moment like that to drop a red pill on these two friendly women?
I know a few folks who moved to my state from Cali formia. I can be sure that they did not vote to make that great state the crap box it is now. Election. Selection has been going on for decades and I believe Cali was one of the first because of its political value.
If a red state won't accept any other law abiding folk who vote in ways the populace doesn't like then they are as bad as CA. Live and let live.
That’s funny, I feel the same way…
😂🤣😂🤣
Gotta be very casual, make it sound almost like joking and say something along the lines of "I am so scared that people who voted for these things gonna come to my state and change it to the same thing, simply because they dont understand how best intentions can still bring about worst outcomes when done wrong".
I think something like that is neutral enough, while also getting to the crux of the problem and opens up to questions like "What kind of best intentions?", "What do you mean done wrong?" etc
Bingo! That's it. That's the winner.
Thank you. You nailed it. I'll keep that chambered for next time.
