Google woke platform crumbles under the weight of its own stupidity. No one is "buying what they're selling" anymore.

I think this is a sneaky form of censorship / deplatforming. Google podcasts has a lot of conservative shows and when things switch to YouTube all of those shows will be locked out. I liked the Google podcast option for lower bandwidth audio only versions of shows I would be watching on Rumble anyway. Now I guess I'll just watch it on Rumble.
That's like saying a bank closing is censorship because conservatives bank there. Not everything that happens is someone trying to get you, specifically
Oh no kidding.. Hmm good point brotha
On second thought, I think the censorship algorithms and skimming are most likely the same for google and YT. Its just more a telltale sign of lost revenue... They're putting their eggs in one basket cause their forces are spread too thin.
they keep trying to expand into markets that just aren't interested in them. this is actually more of a business thing.
Anybody remember google+ ?
Just like Zuckerberg. People just don't want their garbage products anymore.
that, and the market is saturated, lol.
Was that anything like Microsoft Bob?
apparently it was about as popular...
They want to kill RSS since they canβt control it.
Not just them. I've wanted to kill RSS since it was made, bloody annoying, difficult to get working, virtually pointless and easily replaceable.
Then again, that is from an IT perspective, not a caballist. I've just been annoyed by it since inception. Nothing evil, just regular tech annoyance. π
Google owns youtube- they are consolidating and eliminating similar products... also making less for the public to choose from, so more control over what the people see and hear.
I dont see a difference, if they own yt im sude tye censorship has been the same across the board for them.
yep agree
Google had a podcast platform? Well, they won't me missed. I guess they are focussing their censorship efforts elsewhere.
There are so many good podcast apps out there, some that aren't blatantly woke but anything is better than using Google or Spotify.
All this tells me is they're moving Google Podcasts over to YouTube Music because it's cheaper to manage one platform than two.
Since people paid to host their podcasts there, they have the ability to download a file which likely contains the email addresses of their subscribers and will allow them to import it to a different podcast host.
They have to offer this in order to comply with existing contract law.
