I wonder if turning off your device will help. Heck, I've turned mine off for a while and when I turn it back on it downloads all the spam and other type crap buffered in the interwebs waiting on my phone to be turned back on. So if there is some sort of virus that's going to be installed on your device, then turning it on and off will have no appreciable difference. JMO
