The Pike letter is a fake if presented as an alleged direct quote. The predictions while certainly true with the benefit of hindsight may be drawn from a later interpretative paraphrase, perhaps one that may have appeared in William Guy Carr's book "Pawn on the Game" (1959). I recall Carr having made these same kinds of "predictions" in that book.
