I would concentrate mostly on commodities, such as food, supplies, and defense. After that's squared away, then do silver and gold. I would go with silver first, as it's so undervalued, and the supply is going down a bit.

When catastrophy reins, who will be bumping phones for tangible shit? Would you take digital encryption “value” for your house when banks have gone down? Will you trade your rifle and amo for digital points in an online account on your phone that is running on software from a bankrupt website or company?.... Exactly, you wont. Credit unions are safer by far but still not entirely insolated.
Precious metals, ammo, food and alcohol, even if you do not drink, will be worth more than the dollar soon. Trade and barter will work just fine during the chaos of the transition. That is all short term of course.
