You dont have to be an expert to know how the US economy affects World economies, nor do you need to be an expert to know how US policy affects the world at large.

You just have to have your eyes open and pay attention to whats going on now and then. Not knowing these basic things means exactly the analogy used. Ergo, if you're going to be on GAW, it's at least somewhat beneficial to know to know the basics.....no expertise required.
