What would make a lot of sense is to let them put him in jail or at least house arrest and a total gag order, and THEN drop some of the serious evidence against deep state types and watch the media explain why they are above the law.
If Trump doesn't go to jail, they'll always try to use the fact that he's free as "proof" that they're not being treated any better than he is.
