Hey, Greekish, thank you for archiving the link. I usually take a screenshot of the article but, chose a link this time because the good bits are further down in a subsequent paragraph. I understand not wanting to link to enemy sources (screwtube, MSM outlets) but, conservative or, at least neutral sites are OK or, do I misunderstand the reasoning?
The Epoch Times requires a subscription. To bypass that, it's necessary either to use "Reader View" or to archive the page. Reader is available in Firefox and Safari web browsers but most people are unaware.
For Chrome on Android, turn on simplified pages under Settings > Accessibility. Then on pages with a simplified view, it'll ask if you want to open the reader/simplified view.
Actually, I believe this is incorrect. Not all Epoch articles require a subscription. They have a certain amount of material (Actually a lot of it, if not most) that is open, plus they also have material that is for subscribers, aka premium content.
In this case, you can read the full article without obligation.
I'm a long time subscriber to Epoch, because I think they are one of the best OPEN journalistic sources around, so I want to support them. Occasionally, a subscriber like myself might post a link to an article without realizing we have access to it because it is Premium content, in which case it will not work for an unsubscribed person. But most of their content is free and accessible.
However, to answer u/starsbottomleft question, the reason greekish linked the archive is that this method can make the content available to all readers, including those who may not be able to access the content. We often use this method for material from outlets etc, that DO require subscription or payment, etc.
It really has nothing to do with not linking 'enemy' sources. All sauce is important for good research and the promotion of discernment. What we should not be promoting is doomer, fake or false content. But its perfectly appropriate to link almost any sauce for the purpose of discussion, analysis and digging.
(Personally, I draw the line at overtly destructive clickbait and disinformation operations targeting anons or awakened people)
The resolution was needed to clarify that, as speaker pro tempore, Mr. McHenry does have the authority to act as the speaker in all ways until a new speaker is named, according to former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).
Mr. McHenry was designated speaker pro tempore thanks to a post-9/11 rule created to ensure that the House could continue to function in case of a vacancy in the speakership. According to the rule, every elected speaker must list several members’ names to be tapped in order should the chair become vacant. Mr. McHenry was first on the list.
“It’s about the continuity of government,” Mr. McCarthy said. “I always believed the names I was putting on the list could carry on and keep the government running until you elect a new speaker.”
However, after Mr. McCarthy was removed from office by a vote to vacate the chair on Oct. 3, questions were raised about the limits of the speaker pro tempore’s power. The House rules state that a speaker pro tempore designated by the emergency list “shall act as Speaker pro tempore until the election of a Speaker or a Speaker pro tempore. Pending such election, the Member acting as Speaker pro tempore may exercise such authorities as the office of Speaker may be necessary and appropriate to that end.”
Don't really know, but it seems that the rules are saying that the Speaker Pro Tempore can only do (only has authority to do) what is required to elect an new speaker.
With pressure building for Congress to take action in support of Israel in its war with Hamas and to complete the appropriations process before the Nov. 17 deadline, advocates of the plan saw it as a way to reopen the House after 16 days of inactivity.
“If we're going to name a temporary speaker, we need to vest that person with the full power and authority of the office so they can ... do everything that would be permitted of a speaker,” Rep. Mike Flood (R-Neb.) said.

I was unaware. Thank you, Greekish.
You are welcome. It's one of those problems that gets mentioned each week but most people miss the thread and never see it.
What we need is a Rules & Notes page for facts such as this, which everyone is obliged to read once a month (as it gets updated by mods).
