Don’t get me wrong, I respect police who do the job without exerting their power/control, are respectful to the taxpayers, and show tact and discernment. It is a hard job and they are under paid for putting their lives in danger every day. But there are police who let their power go to their head and those need to be weeded out. I would like to see our former military, those in good standing, be given first chance as a police officer and government jobs. They defended our country and should be rewarded, if they choose to pursue this as a career. But pay them better, at least $100,000, better health/life benefits. In turn make it easier to get rid of the bad apples. Over haul the police union.
