It means they're getting ready to stand outside of a restaurant that has a discounted lunch menu and mention the price of everything.

"This door doesn't squeak anymore. I guess they put WD-40 on it." "WD-40? That's like seven dollars a can!"

And if you ask them how they're doing they'll tell you the day of the week.
