Being a fluent Dutch speaker, I watched some of the coverage of the results. The commentators were saying that Wilders' party had a weird upward trajectory when the votes were counted, and when the votes came in from the 'hinterland' at the end, i.e., not the urban areas, the trajectory only became steeper. Most of the folk in the country had finally had enough of the lefties that have been in power for the last twenty years.

However, he bears some scrutiny. Perhaps he will take on a humane aspect and be on the correct side of history.

We must wait, I guess. His winning could be a Meloni 2.0, which was utterly sad to behold.
