Thank you for posting this. Robert Bortins and his mom, Leigh, are revolutionaries in the realm of education.
Unfortunately, it is very hard to convince people, even conservatives, that homeschoolers/families in general should not be taking government funds for their education. If you take government funding for your education, you will be considered a public school. ESAs (educational savings accounts) and vouchers are simply alternate forms of UBI.
There's another current post on this board discussing the insanity of not owning anything and the current push to encourage leasing (cell phones, for example). In my opinion this educational conversation and that conversation are the same.
Yes, “they” want us to own nothing. We must make others aware of leasing education out. What happened to our parents reminding us all that leasing your car is not a good decision. Lol
Exactly, the only thing they control.is their system. We are all bright enough to abandon their system and with God's help and wisdom build our own mutually agreeable system.to work under. Keep it simple. Contracts are private. Gov small amd operated within the bounds of the Constitution.
Has the plan called choice, universal a way to give government complete control over education? Money controls it all. Have they made education impossible the last years in order to herd parents into wanting choice, universal school choice education? What a plan!!! It makes even homeschooling dependant on government and government would be in control of homeschooled kids which they are not now.
Yes, this is absolutely a way through the back door to gain control over homeschooling. Robert and his mom, Leigh, the founder of CC, have been adamant about this issue since they saw it on the horizon years ago.
If you're a homeschooler, I highly recommend joining HSLDA as well as your state homeschool/government watchdog organization. For Indiana, that's IAHE. https://iahe.net
My daughter brought this to my attention. Our daughter quit teaching and then quit a high paying corporate job in order to homeschool her two children for the last 11 years with no government funds. I have a niece who is in charge of two charter schools and both my niece and daughter are on opposing sides of each other. I agree with my daughter. My niece will not have anything to do with the truth. She is too personally funded by government education which is why many like her go for the trojan horse of choice universal, voucher un knowingly that it hurts kids and education in the end. . I am sending my daughter the recommendation of the watchdog organization. Thank you. This has to become viral. Too many states have already done this bad plan. The answer is to get government out of education.
I just spoke to one of our state reps who asked what he could do to help homeschoolers. I told him homeschoolers want to be left alone--zero government involvement. He's the headmaster for a local parochial school that takes vouchers, so I asked him why private schools are so hellbent on being public entities. He was shocked, said they weren't, then went on to describe the massive funding they receive for lunches. 🤦♀️
It is a small world; our daughter has been a part of CC since 2016. It is interesting to literally have two sides in one family. Our daughter and her dedication to CC and homeschooling and our niece and her running 2 charter schools, each in a different school district. Cousin to cousin in opposing views. Makes for good discussions.
Very good points. School choice is only a bandage. Schools need a whole conservative transfusion. We need to control the hiring process and the school boards to provide top down coverage for the hiring managers. We also need to do a lot of decentralization.
There are too many chiefs in schools and not enough indians now. Too much money and power per each chief that will not give up their power to make change.
That is administrators. One charter school can now have up to 5 Administrators!!! And all getting 6 figure salaries.

Own your family's education.
Here is the link he referenced at the end. I signed it a month ago. https://educationalindependence.net

Here's a recent appearance by Leigh Bortins, CCs founder, discussing how homeschooling is trending. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Khgv6l1pu3Y

I noticed that too. No home schooler would have “gotten”;away with using that slang word. LOL
