The interesting part about that whole event is that he claimed that the girl was a prostitute. As if the Eagles (who had been a top band for years) would need to call a madam and order up a prostitute, instead of just using the large pool of underage groupies that were common at the time. If Henley himself didn't know of any girls like that, you can be darned sure that the roadies did.
I remember hearing of this. Most people give Don a pass because (Eagles) but I don’t think anyone should get a pass for this sort of behavior.
thanks for the sauce. I would suggest that if Henley was some cabal pedo than he would have been protected from this story "leaking" and he would've been with much younger children. in the haze of being a grade A rock star celebrity is it likely one experiences excesses? I say yes. being young and perhaps naive would it e reasonable to assume a girl was of age? is it possible story is completely made up or the cabal entrapped Henley to have blackmail on him? who knows but something tells me it's not as black and white as Henley just being some pedo that's part of the pizzagate gang
I thought at the time that he had been set up, something to do with "breaking up" the Eagles who were a huge moneymaker at the time. It even seemed possible that one of his bandmates set him up (or ratted him out) because there was a lot of bad blood between them.
Not excusing him at all, though. And of course, when you consider that alcohol, Quaaludes and cocaine were all involved (probably weed as well), who knows exactly what happened or which story is "true"? It makes all of them unreliable narrators.
This is such a great song, and just as relevant as it was back in 1982. (Sometimes, I can't believe it ever got released!) Don Henley wrote it about tabloid journalists, but I think few would disagree that this "crap is king" style of "journalism" has come to dominate all of the mockingbird MSM, and why so many people - finally - are turning their backs to it.
Scotty is a virtuoso with q-ing points of the song with relevant parts of the piece...behold: "Got a bubble-headed bleach-blonde, comes on at 5" lines up just right with the bit about the all-girlz flight crew overshooting the HI runway. Kekking madly!
