You dont keep the title of champ if you lose the championship lol. Do you watch the UFC? Hes not a champ and hes never been champ. An interim champ isnt even a champ its just a place holder until the actual champ can defend his title against that person. Colby is still fighting for his first title.
From what I've read online this seems to be a matter of opinion with no real proof either way clarifying wether or not an interim champ is still considered a champion. I understand how interim belts work - yes. And interim champion is in the name - champion. Also there has been cases where the champion doesnt return and the interim becomes the unified champ. Also interim champs recieve paperview points like a champion would.
Either way he’s AT best a former interim champ…and former champs dont get the label “UFC Champ”…esp when theyre still fighting. They just don’t. If you watched UFC even semi regularly you’d know this.
He still won the interim championship making him a champ.
