This will be handy for me. We have an off-grid place up.on a hill which had fantastic cell service - until they started the changeover to 5G. Now the cell coverage is miserable.
I bitched at Verizon and they said "well your location has no cell service"!!! I pointed out that at the bottom of the hill is no service, but at the top of the hill, the service was great until the last year when yiu started switching to 5G. They basically said we're very sorry, but tough shit. I'd love to toss out Verizon.
Isn't the purpose of an "off grid place" to be off grid?
Need cell service to work remotely. Its off grid mostly because it's a half mile to the nearest grid power.
Solar power with 48v lithium battery bank.
Get starlink at your cabin. Purchase a small inverter to supply A/C power to starlink by attaching to your 12 volt batteries. (I assume you have battery power or a generator) Go to this site for how to. "Wi-Fi calling routes your voice calls and text messages through a Wi-Fi network rather than a cellular network. Wi-Fi calling is ideal in situations where cellphone service is unavailable or unreliable, and typically provides higher-quality voice calls than cellular networks." https://www.howtogeek.com/794724/what-is-wi-fi-calling/ Problem solved. Plus you have internet at the cabin.
