Wow, What an awesome find.
Looks nice are they painted lead?
Ceramic or porcelain I think
That's good.
Yes, keep the babies away from eating the paint chips!!
Painted lead figures are different from lead paint...
I bet somebody hand painted all of those figures. Very cool.
What a treasure , damn dude you were blessed with that find . Hope u can keep it displayed on a side table . May I be nosy, I’d love to hear what u paid ,, worth so much more no matter the cost ,, wish I’d find something like this at a thrift store ,, really cool !
60 bucks
Wow what a score , good for u my friend !
You would be lucky to buy all of the testors model paint colors you would need for $60!

It was this set or the revolutionary war. I had my parents get me this one. 20 years ago. Wish I had it now.
Now the question becomes:
Which side is white, thus who attacks first?
The base is the color, hard to notice at a glance, so, the Confederacy attacks first.
I figured, but wasn't sure enough. Especially since I still find conflicting reports over who fired the first shot.
And no, I'm not interested in starting another fight about this in the comments. It's not relevant to the Q mission.
Interesting though!
u/#correct
Who attacks first depends on the articles of war!
Pretty nice find. I love finding cool stuff like this. You didn't find this in the NEast. Must be down South somewhere. If this is the case, I inform you that at this time next year, you will have competition.
The United Daughters of the Confederacy museum in Char;ston SC is a helluva museum if you have never been.
The civil war is cancelled.
Pretty neat find.
Great find fern..i hope i will be as lucky one day. i have collected chess sets from all over the world. Would love to find one of these.:)
I pray you will find one And I know you will
Would be cool to repaint them like those tabletop miniatures.
Beautiful
Wow! A real collector's item for sure.
I remember the commercials for this set from the 80's. You got one chess piece every few months. George Carlin made a joke about ordering it and being able to play a game of chess with a friend after a couple of years
Hopefully it doesn't have that horrible 3 worded sticker on the bottom.
But by the looks of it was made in the USA...
Nice find!
NICE! I am just surprised it wasn't labeled RACIST gaming!
That is simply beautiful.
